"Doc Sands" Sands holds the world record for most online Sunday major
victories with a staggering eight (8) wins. He is currently one of the
highest ranked players on Pocketfives, as well as on the CardPlayer
Online Player of the Year standings.
Despite putting in
significantly less volume than most of his peers, David has amassed
over 1.5 Million in tournament winnings in a brief period of time.
Sands
caught fire in September ’08, winning the Ultimate Bet 200K guaranteed
and the Absolute Poker 150K Guaranteed tournaments in back-to-back days
for $45,000 and $37,500 respectively. Just two months later, he
dominated a field of almost 4,000 in rout to winning the Full Tilt 750K
guaranteed tournament for $133,000. In April '09 Sands took down the
Full Tilt Sunday Mulligan for $53,000. Less than a month later, Sands
earned a gold jersey and over $250,000 for a victory in the prestigious
FTOPS series XII. In May '09 David took down the flagship event on The
Cake Poker Network - the monthly 250k guaranteed. In August he won
what is commonly regarded as the toughest weekend major, the Poker
Stars Sunday 500, earning over $90,000 in the process.
In
addition to his 1.5 Million in online tournament winnings, David "Doc

scene as well.
