Arnaud Mattern, a professional poker player from France, now lives in London. The backgammon player, who entered the poker world in the year 2004, has three first place-finishes to his credit. Way back in 2006, on October 7, he had his maiden first-place winning at the London Poker Masters Tournament in the Main Event No-Limit Hold'em and won $51,429 in prize money. The Caribbean Poker Classic tournament took place on November 28, 2006, and in the No Limit Hold'em/Blackjack Tournament, Arnaud Mattern held 10th rank and claimed $2,250. In the Main Event No-Limit Hold'em of the same tournament that was held on December 2, 2006, Arnaud Mattern finished 16th and walked away with $12,630. On December 10, 2006, he played in the No-Limit Hold'em event at the St Maarten Poker Open tournament, which was held at the Maho Beach Casino Resort. In the event, he outlasted an original field of 34 players to finish in first-place and win a total sum of $10,900.

At the World Poker Open/World Poker Tour (WPT) Event - Season 5 held on January 18, 2007, at the Gold Strike Casino Resort, Arnaud Mattern finished 13th and bagged $2,729 from Event 17 – No-Limit Hold'em Shorthanded. His next money finish was on July 11, the same year, at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament in Event 19 No-Limit Hold'em, in which Arnaud Mattern secured 83rd place and walked away with $4,310. A yet another first place finish for Arnaud Mattern came on December 14, 2007, when the European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague - Season 4 tournament was held, in which earned a princely sum of $928,443 in the No-Limit Hold'em event.

The next instance Arnaud Mattern cashed in was on April 14, 2008 at the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final in the No-Limit Hold'em event, which was held at Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort. In this event, he ranked sixth and took home a total amount of $19,397. The 39th WSOP 2008 WAS held on May 31, 2008, and Arnaud Mattern took part in Event 2 No-Limit Hold'em and added $8,045 to his bankroll. Arnaud Mattern claims that he loves playing tournaments as well as cash games. As of 2008, he has cashed in 9 events and won a total sum of $1,040,133 as live tournament winnings.
