âThe future of poker is in Europeâ
Vegas pro Layne Flack, winner of six WSOP bracelets, has signed with the poker agency Poker Icons.
Layne Flack, 40, became involved with poker in the early 90s, owning and operating poker games throughout the state of Montana. Flack is best known for winning two consecutive events at the 2002 World Series of Poker (WSOP) followed by two consecutive events at the 2003 WSOP. This feat earned him the nickname "Back 2 Back Flack."
To date, he has an impressive 6 World Series of Poker bracelets and one World Poker Tour title. Layne shows no sign of slowing down including recently surpassing $4,000,000 in poker tournament winnings including a 2008 WSOP win in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha. In slightly under 10 years of play Layne's resume includes 70 cashes and 14 major titles. In addition to his six WSOP-bracelets he has also cashed in several WPT tournaments and is today number 56 in the world in the All time money list, according to Hendon Mob. An important reason for Layne Flack to choose Poker Icons is that the agency is European. - I believe that poker has a great future in Europe and I would love to be a part of it - Layne Flack says. Layne Flack says Europe is such an exciting place. Flack also says he has always enjoyed playing poker in Europe and participating in European poker events.
He is not the only Vegas pro who find interest in the growing poker market in Europe, according to Poker Icons CEO Lars Kollind. While restrictions on internet gambling has afflicted American poker, live tournaments as well as internet poker still grows in Europe.
- There is good action in Europe, and good poker players look for the best action, says Lars Kollind.
