Poker History 24
year old British Korean Rupert started playing poker in 6th form at
18
where he was friends with other Poker Icons pro James Keys.
Despite
a fairly bleak start to his career, he soon improved a lot and became
active within the 2+2 community.
A
graduate in Economics from the University of Warwick, Rupert spent
plenty of time continuing to improve his game while maintaining his
studies. While at university he was the vice president of the poker
society and represented Warwick in several student events including
the UK Student poker championships.
After
graduating he decided to play full time starting off at 50c/$1 6 max
games and within a year was comfortable at $5/10. In October 2010 he
had his biggest score to date in the Full Tilt Million making a deal
3 handed and eventually coming 2nd for $155k - the same day
incredibly finishing 11th in the Pokerstars Sunday Million too.
Continuing
to crush midstakes cash games while playing tournaments on Sundays,
Rupert turned to the live arena to compete.
Final
tabling the GUKPT Coventry in May led to a string of tournament
almosts for Rupert before taking 1st in EPT7 San Remo for a whopping
€930,000. Tournament Results Date
